Summer fades to fall as the leaves fade from green to orange and red. Long sleeves begin to frequent our wardrobes, yet it’s still too early to trade in summer activities for a down jacket. October is still filled with enough warmth and sunshine to explore the great outdoors, and Friday Harbour Resort invites you to continue to enjoy your favourite summer pastimes.
At the Beach Hut, you can get outfitted on a cruiser, mountain or road bike complete with a bike helmet. There are even bikes for the kids! Tour a loop of the trails through the Nature Preserve and immerse yourself in the beautiful colours of fall. The mixed coniferous and deciduous trees provide you with new views at every turn. The leaves will be delicately falling around you as you pedal your way along the gravel and over the boardwalks. Keep your eyes out for the wildlife that are actively preparing for their long winter slumbers and journeys. After returning your bikes, feel free to linger just a little longer to watch as the sun sets with colours as brilliant as those of fall, just beyond the Resort.
